The Other Within

Rosie's relationship with Piper is costing her friends and having deadly consequences, but maybe that's exactly what she wants.
In weekly sessions with her psychiatrist, Rosie Randall keeps returning to the day she met Piper: a coffee shop downtown, a shared romance novel, and a stranger in yellow rain boots who sat down without asking. Three years later, Piper is everything Rosie isn’t. Reckless, daring, impossible to say no to. She’s also the reason Rosie is afraid to let anyone else get close.
When Rosie comes home to find Piper waiting with drinks and her friend Lily bound on the couch, the night dissolves into something she can’t trust. By morning Lily is gone, the phone won’t stop ringing, and Piper has a warning about Eric, the new man in Rosie’s life. To protect him, Rosie will have to stand up to Piper. First she has to find out what Piper really wants.

Shooting after Helene
The Other Within was made for the 2nd Act Film Festival, and because of the deadline we faced, we ended up shooting the weekend after Hurricane Helene blew through our area. With so much uncertainty surrounding the production, we decided to green-light it anyway, even though some of our locations still didn’t have power and some of our crew didn’t know if they’d even be able to make it to set.
To say we were operating on a skeleton crew in tumultuous conditions would be an understatement. But when talented, dedicated people show up and bring their A-game, the result speaks for itself.
